Paul Emile Anders, Director, has an M.A. (New York University) and studied ancient history with Arnaldo Momigliano at the University of London. He formerly taught at Hartnell College.


Thomas Burke has taught Sanskrit at Harvard, Hindi at Boston University, and German in the Varanaseya Sanskrit University (now the Sampurnananda Sanskrit University).


Diana Chirita, teaches German and older Germanic dialects. A native of Bucharest, Romania, she earned a Ph.D. in Historical Germanic Linguistics from the University of Vienna. She has worked as a translator, interpreter, instructor and professor.

Volunteer and Unpaid Internship Opportunities

Research and teaching projects include Lactantius and Nonviolence, Greek grammatical terminology, and compiling vocabulary and grammatical aids; for these projects, Latin or Greek and computer skills are necessary and French and German are helpful.


For Lactantius and Nonviolence, tasks include providing translations for Latin and Greek quotations, proofreading, checking citations, and providing hyperlinks.
